The River in Me plot

This documentary is a musical voyage of discovery that takes us through the Beijing-based Chinese ethno-rock musician Su Yang to his hometown in northwest China, where the traditional art movements Qinqiang, Piying and Huaer originate. As one of the results of a three-year ethnographic project, this documentary shows how the local villagers live lives with unique musical and artistic expressions, and how they struggle to maintain those traditions.
