The Mirror and the Window plot

Two people in two different places in the world ask filmmaker Diego Gutiérrez to film them; his best friend and his mother. They both know they don't have long to live. While talking both try to understand themselves; the reasons, purpose, and trail of their path through this world. The proximity of their approaching end triggers a journey. A journey to a place with no trace of human life. A possible vacuum of color, sound, texture and smell. An attempt to visualize the nothingness, to touch it. By listening to his friend and his mother, by mirroring himself to them and taking part in that journey, the filmmaker tries to get somewhere close. That which cannot be explained. Why are we here? Is it worth it? It is enough?
