The Last Frontier plot

The latest battleground of the 'clash of civilizations' is located on the steppes of Mongolia. In the immense void has settled a foreign army of spiritual benefactors fighting for the ears and souls of three million Mongolians. The Last Frontier is about those missionaries, and shows how with the best intentions in the 21st century spiritual and cultural individuality are predatory for the neo-imperialist reflexes of (Christian) aid. Among other things, the film tells the story of Congolese pastor Gaby Bamana. We see the mental journey of someone spreading the Word and providing aid in Mongolia to a man who is about to leave his Catholic order. After fifteen years of mercy in the Mongolian orphans and poor relief, and as the first African on the steppe, Bamana has reached the point where his faith in the mission fails him.
