The Great Abandonment plot

Are you dying from the consequences of the lockdown or the coronavirus? That is the tough choice facing 11 million migrant workers in India when they have to rush out of their workplaces in the cities. Prime Minister Modi sees the lockdown for India's 1.3 billion people as a collective sacrifice to stop the spread of the virus, but his appeal is above all a way to shift the suffering of the pandemic onto the poorest.
