The Eclipse plot

Urban visits her family in what is now Serbia and lets them reminisce. The solar eclipses act as a metaphor for how you can never look directly at the past, only filtered, or even have to look away from it completely. With an overlapping of images full of sepia filters and nostalgic Super-8 film, contrast is always created: between expansive landscape shots and food still lifes, between personal memory and collective history, between what is said and what is not.
