Kosovar Florin Kraniqi lives in Brooklyn, NY, where he runs a roofing company. This 'average' immigrant leads a double life: from America he is a driving force behind Kosovo's striving for independence. During the war (1997-99), Kraniqi supported the KLA, the Kosovo Liberation Army. He organized the political lobby in America, collected 30 million dollars and bought weapons on a large scale that found their way to Albania via all kinds of different, otherwise completely legal routes. From there they were smuggled across the border to Kosovo by horse or donkey. For Krasniqi, the struggle has not ended since NATO intervened in 1999: as long as Kosovo is not independent, the struggle will continue. 'If we don't get our independence, it will be war. We have been able to involve NATO in our war, we are also able to kick out the United Nations if we have to," said Krasniqi. The film shows how Krasniqi prepares for another war. He is active through the political lobby, currently as part of the presidential election (the Kosovars have leading Democrats like Wesley Clark and Holbrook by their side), but also weapons continue to make their way from America to Kosovo. No matter how hard the White House fights the "war on terror", buying guns in America remains a lot easier than anywhere else in the world.
