The Blair Witch Documentary plot
In 1999, the horror film “The Blair Witch Project” was released. The film tells the story of three film students who, as part of a documentary project, venture into the Maryland woods in search of the Blair Witch, a local legend that has haunted the town of Burkittsville for centuries. They were never seen again. The footage they shot is all that remains of that fateful excursion. In this documentary about that film, the directors explain that they wanted everything in the film to feel grounded and believable. They didn’t want a scene where someone shows up with an alien mask, which would make the audience lose their credibility in the film. The entire film consists of students Heather, Josh, and Mike having strange but believable things happen to them in the woods.
