Synth Britannia plot
In the late 1970s, a new style of music called synthpop emerged in Great Britain. This style is mainly dominated by synthesizers and electronic drums. British post-punk musicians influenced by bands such as Kraftwerk and Roxy Music formed successful electronic bands in the 1970s and 1980s. Artists such as Gary Numan, Depeche Mode, The Human League and Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark have been very successful during this period, and their music has a huge impact to this day.
