Sturmfahrt plot

With his participation in the Vendée Globe, Boris Herrmann is fulfilling a lifelong dream. The toughest solo sailing competition in the world takes the native of Hamburg around the world - without stops and without assistance. Boris has to rely completely on himself during the 80-day journey. Throughout the race, wind and weather are a constant companion for the sailor. Despite repeated mechanical problems and technical failures, the early part of the race shows that the Vendée Globe newcomer can keep up with his much more experienced competitors. But a few hours before his expected arrival at the finish, his hopes of a possible debut victory are dashed by an unexpected event.
