Stand in the Stream plot
A look at recent international political events, intertwined with the personal struggle of the director as daughter, mother and artist. It is a succession of visual fragments that she collected between 2011 and 2017: from Obama, the Egyptian revolution and Trump to forest fires, children in monster masks and kale advertisements. The common thread is images of her mother, a former trade union activist who disappears in the mists of dementia, and her son's earliest years. The personal experience of the end of life and new beginnings is mixed here with a portrait of America at a turning point in history.
