Souvenirs de la Géhenne plot
Grande-Synthe is a suburb of Dunkirk that is mostly in the news today as the northern power base of the French Front National. Here, Jenkoe delves into a 2002 case when one JD loaded his gun, got into his car, and went looking for immigrants to kill. The 'Gehenna' in the title refers to the biblical valley that represents hell or purgatory. That's not far off. We follow the trail of JD's murderous trip through Grande-Synthe, a port suburb that was destroyed in World War II and is now a temporary refuge for thousands of people also displaced by war.
