Simple as Water plot

"Family knows no borders."

Yasmin is a mother of four who lives in a tent in the port of Athens. Samra, a widow living on the border between Turkey and Syria, struggles with the decision to leave her children in an orphanage in the hopes of giving them a better life. There is also 22-year-old Omar, who has taken on the role of parent to his younger brother Abed in Pennsylvania. Diaa has remained in Syria as she tirelessly searches for her "disappeared" son. Safwan, Yasmin's husband, lives in temporary shelter in Germany and longs to be reunited with his children. All these individuals are followed in this documentary.
