"The Invisible Poisoning of the World"
This documentary follows a young woman from Greenland (Pipaluk Knudsen-Ostermann) on her journey around the world, investigating the local causes of the pollution that poisons her people. During her journey, Pipaluk finds herself in three different continents, where she is confronted with the conflicting interests between short-term profit and sustainable solutions in the fields of agriculture, industry and healthcare. For example, the pesticide DDT is still used in Africa in the fight against malaria, despite its harmful effects, and healthier alternatives do not stand a chance. In Central America she speaks with plantation workers who suffer from all kinds of serious health problems due to pesticides, and in India the fighter against chemical plants is threatened by his fellow villagers who get work and income from there.
