Sam plot

For nineteen years Ria Bremer followed the severely handicapped Sam; deaf and blind due to an unknown progressive muscle disease. A film about the struggle of his parents, the dilemma of the doctors and the zest for life of Sam himself. Ria Bremer first met Sam in 1992, for the AVRO program Vinger aan de Pols. His life expectancy is then less than a year. When making the film, the starting point was nineteen years ago: to follow the decision moments in a life that could last only a few months, according to the doctors. But Sam is still there and his joy still trumps his sorrow; a life that never ceases to amaze.
