Reopening Night plot
This documentary follows the cast, crew and staff of the world-famous Public Theater as they prepare for an adaptation of Shakespeare's "Merry Wives" at the Delacorte Theater in New York City. Faced with the ever-present threat of COVID-19 and one of the rainiest July periods ever, the production marks the return of live theater after more than a year of closures in the city. Their quest to bring back a long-loved tradition in New York City is a risky bet for the theater that has been the creative heartbeat of New York City for nearly six decades.
