Reconciliation plot
In a remote mountain area in Albania, an eighteen-year-old girl is shot dead as a result of a lingering family feud. The Kanun, the age-old tribal law that has been revived in this region since the fall of communism, allows blood feud but also contains rules that allow another way out. Both the bishop and the chairman of the Reconciliation Committee, a national NGO, urge the grieving father to do the latter. This documentary observes how difficult it is to get over pride, sadness and anger and break the chain of conflict – if only because both sides of the conflict have different interpretations of the matter.
