Qi Yue plot
On July 1, 2003, the six-year anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong from Great Britain to China, the streets of the former British crown colony are packed with protesters. The center of the demonstration is Victoria Park, the target is the national security legislation proposed by the central government in Beijing, which means a curtailment of individual freedoms. There is also room for a modest pro-Beijing demonstration, but it is nowhere near mobilizing the hundreds of thousands of people in the anti-Beijing demonstration, which prescribes black as a protest color. A high turnout so soon after the crowd panic sparked by the SARS crisis.
