This frontal attack on the Republican Party warns of the serious consequences of a possible re-election of Donald Trump as President of the United States. It is not subtle, but because Schei and Rowley manage to get a number of key players behind the scenes in front of the camera, it is journalistically substantiated. The nominal main character is Lee Fang, a political reporter who has been studying for years the way in which fundamentalist evangelists sharpen their influence on the Republican Party (and thus also the presidential candidate) and thus play a decisive role in American policy. Pastor Gary Burd leads a motorcycle club and brandishes Bible texts to convince the new members of a belief that many Americans share with him: when Jerusalem and Israel are once again in the hands of the Jewish people, Jesus will return to exterminate all apostates. Burd prepares his men to lend Jesus a helping hand. The main counter-voice comes from Frank Schaeffer who, as the son of theologian Francis Schaeffer, had a very high reputation in the Evangelical community for many years, but who now claims to have kicked the habit and, from a secret address, provides more insight into the machinations of the organization of which he was one of the main faces for a long time. It is sometimes a bit exaggerated, but the strongly substantiated message is disturbing in any case. Time will tell who is right.
