"A dynasty lost in sudden death."
From 1981 to 1984, the best American football team came from a small private school in Dallas. The Mustangs at Southern Methodist University prospered, but by the mid-1980s, everything fell apart. The team lost control of the football program to oil barons and real estate dealers, who put the pressure on them to win. As a result, the players began to break the rules of the NCAA more and more often and grossly.
