The express train Tallinn-Moscow-Tallinn departs from the capital of Estonia at five in the evening and arrives in the Russian capital Moscow at nine the next morning. The train had 44 sleeping cars for decades and was extremely popular. Today there are only five couchettes and even those are half unoccupied. The politics and economy have changed a lot in these two countries, but Ida, a Russian living in Estonia, still works on the once exclusive train. Ida and her family have a close relationship that is precious and sacred to them, but also limiting, demanding and hindering.
