Passage plot

"A Boat Movie"

In this documentary, the viewer makes a journey through Europe from the perspective of a 'Spitsenschipper'. Once upon a time, the waterways were navigated by the 'Spits', the veins of the European economy. Now these veins are literally slowly closing up and only a single ship sails them. "Passage" shows the poetry of what has been created by human hands and what is in danger of being lost again due to time and changing economic and social structures. The inland vessel is a metaphor for the passing of time and the slowly changing Europe.
