Oyun plot
"This theater will never cease to exist. We have suffered. That will not happen to our children," is the firm statement of nine Turkish rural women at the end of the play 'The Women's Protest'. The performance is the result of months of intensive preparations, during which they transformed their own tragic stories into a play under the guidance of the local schoolmaster. In Oyun, director Pelin Esmer shows how, thanks to the play, the women find support in each other, overcome their fears and develop self-confidence. The rehearsals are interspersed with scenes from everyday life, in which drama and humor compete for priority.
