Minas Gerais is a region in southeastern Brazil whose identity, history and even topography has been greatly influenced by mining. With a personal approach, the filmmaker explores the legacy of the region she calls home. Alternating between stories, archival images and documentation, “The Silence of Iron” raises questions about the way we view and consider landscapes.
