O Amor É Único plot

Dona Alva, nicknamed the Macho woman, lives on a hill in the Brazilian hinterland, surrounded by palms and banana trees. Had once been in love at the age of eleven, married without love at the age of fourteen and after a life of hard work alone again in her eighties: her husband has passed away. Sad but determined, she moves to the village at the foot of the hill where she has to reinvent her life between the bar and the church. Ignoring her concerned family, her eye falls on a nice handyman who is forty years her junior. Will she finally find love?
