Novaya plot

The Novaya Gazeta ('New Newspaper') was one of Russia's first independent newspapers. Founded in 1993, the newspaper has been known for its critical and activist journalism ever since. Novaya's journalists mainly investigate corruption, human rights violations and the excesses of President Putin's policies. It is currently one of the last independent newspapers in the country.
