"Four Harbour cities. One love."
In a world where cities are becoming more important than countries, the port cities of Rotterdam, Liverpool, Marseille and Naples could form a 'city gang'. All four are folk, multicultural and internationally oriented, largely shaped by nineteenth-century and modernist demolition instincts and planning. They also recognize each other in the clichéd Calimero feeling and for a long time they were 'leaders of just the wrong lists'. They are currently undergoing an international reappraisal including advancing gentrification. Their shared traits can form the basis for a metropolitan corridor that confronts the world. Which maybe even shows how it can be done.
