Naître Père plot
From the first moment that Jerôme and François are together, they desperately want a child. Adoption and co-parenting are not for them for all sorts of reasons. The men have almost given up hope, until a film about surrogate mothers sets them on a new track. They find the American farmer Colleen, who lives in Wisconsin with her husband and three daughters, willing to help them and carry their child for them. Documentary maker Lanson followed Jeôme and François in the period before, during and after Colleen's pregnancy. She shows how an ancient wish is fulfilled in a modern way and especially how many tears, travel kilometres, ideals and paperwork are involved.
