Moving the Mountain plot

In the late 1950s in the 1800s, large groups of Chinese immigrants first came to Canada, lured by the discovery of gold ore in the Fraser River Valley. Many of the newcomers were young men who found work as cooks, house servants, shop assistants, and launderers. In 1885, the Chinese were accused of stealing Canadian jobs. The federal government imposed "capital money" on all new Chinese immigrants.
