Edwin Moses, a physics student at Morehouse College in Atlanta, taught himself to run the 400-meter hurdles, perfecting his technique with 13 strides between the hurdles—a feat that made him a legend. Moses’ impressive winning streak, which lasted nine years, nine months, and nine days, earned him numerous world records and two Olympic victories.
