Mitten plot

This documentary follows the final weeks of rehearsals of "Mitten Wir im Leben Sind", a performance by choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, her company Rosas and cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras, based on the six cello suites by Johann Sebastian Bach. The film provides a picture of De Keersmaeker's meticulous working method, in which a choreographic universe is built up on the basis of a study of musical writing. This intensive process of creation, the constant reworking and refinement, characterized by an inexhaustible desire for precision and detail, is reflected in the patient look that the filmmakers cast on the work of choreographer, musician and dancers.
