Mies Varjossa plot
Otto Wille Kuusinen (1881-1964) is still one of the most controversial figures in Finnish history. He was one of the communist leaders of his young country, betrayed his people by handing them over to Stalin, and remained a powerful man until his death, including as a member of the Soviet Union's Politburo. At the same time, he was afraid of it. He did everything he could to protect intimates from the vengeance of that power. That he was known for being vindictive and irreconcilable is only one side of the coin. As a man of opposites, Kuusinen is as much a mystery as an archetype of 20th-century man. Mies Varjossa is a study about everyday corruption, in which one's soul is crushed.
