Merry Christmas, Yiwu plot

Christmas is not celebrated in China, but there are more than six hundred Christmas factories in Yiwu. They are run as family businesses and run all year round. People from all over the country come here for work. Several factories, in and around the city of Yiwu, are the focus of this observational documentary. There are no high-tech machines here, but hard-working people who glitter Christmas balls, glue pompoms on Christmas hats and craft Santas. The camera follows the workers on the shop floor and beyond – their conversations, love affairs, a game of billiards, groceries and food, and the phone calls back home, far away from Yiwu's prosperity.
