Mel plot

When the Armenian Meline broke the world weightlifting record for women in 2007, she was hailed as a national heroine. But Meline carried a secret that she could no longer hide. She expressed her wish to continue living as a man. However, Armenia is a conservative and orthodox country with few LGBT rights, and Mel was publicly pilloried, threatened and humiliated. Mel decides to flee and arrives, with girlfriend Lilith, in the Netherlands, where they apply for asylum and Mel undergoes a transition to male through an operation.
