Martin Malibu plot

When school friend Marnix starts to behave more and more like the character Martin Malibu invented by him and filmmaker Linus Kropp, Linus decides to make the transformation the subject of his film. Martin Malibu's dream to transcend his provincial life and follow in George Baker's footsteps as an artist dominates his life. Is Martin Malibu a playful invention of two old school friends as an ode to the West Frisian identity or an eccentric person of flesh and blood?
