Maatschappijleer plot

The government is calling on schools to pay attention to 'better citizenship', but how do you do that? A documentary about Daan's first six months as a secondary school social studies teacher. He discovers through trial and error how far apart the theory and practice of teaching are. Daan is following the first degree Social Studies at the university and in August 2015 starts his career as a teacher at a secondary school in Tilburg in good spirits. His ideal: to be an inspiring teacher and to deliver the students as independent citizens with a sense of responsibility. But as the first semester progresses, reality turns unruly.
