Low - You May Need a Murderer plot
Alan Sparhawk and his wife Mimi Parker form the core of the band Low. The Mormon couple lives in Duluth with their two children Hollis and Cyrus. "Duluth is seen by Americans as a kind of Timbuktu," Sparhawk says, "Like it's somewhere at the end of the world." It seems so idyllic: a young family with cheerful children in a pleasant and quiet town that can easily get by on the music. But precisely behind the balanced music lies a fickle, restless mind in Alan Sparhawk, which struggles with religion, violence and mental health. During a tour with the whole family from Duluth, on the occasion of the acclaimed CD Drums & Guns, we also get to see a sideways portrait of contemporary America, which seems to struggle with the same dilemmas as Sparhawk. But the documentary can also be seen as a moving love story at the same time.
