"What ever happened to Dreyer's Joan of Arc?"
Sixteen years after the death of Maria Falconetti, we see Anna Karina burst into tears watching La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc in the film My Life to Live/Vivre Sa Vie: Film and Douze Tableaux. The parallels that go back to that scene hint at the impact Dreyer's film had on Falconetti's lives and his own. Llamas de Nitrato examines, with the help of re-enactments, the registration of Dreyer's most famous film and the tormented recordings that triggered Falconetti's heartbreaking performance.
