Leonie, Actrice en Spionne plot

Documentary about Leonie Brandt, actress and double agent in the 1930s and 1940s, who managed to weave an inextricable web of intrigue. As a miner's daughter, Leonie dreamed of becoming an actress. That dream came true when she made her debut in Amsterdam's Stadschouwburg in 1925. In the years that followed, she developed into a versatile actress. Around 1936 she accidentally discovers that the Victoria Hotel in Amsterdam is teeming with spies. That triggers all her ambitions and talents. Her life takes a radical turn. In no time she operates as a Dutch double agent in Nazi Germany. In a daze of lucidity and hubris, she plays the part of her life. The fact that the stakes in this game are very high, a matter of life or death even, only makes it more interesting for her.
