Lagonda plot
Architect Jan Frederik van Erven Dorens (1904-1994) built large country houses before the Second World War and earned a fortune from them. He bought his dream car in London in 1938 for fl 13,200, a Lagonda LG6 Drop Head Coupé. During the war the car is hidden, but just after the Second World War the car is requisitioned. Van Erven Dorens would never drive his car again. At the end of the eighties, grandson Robin van Erven Dorens decided to make a film about his grandfather's architecture, but after his death he decided, with the camera ready, to look for the missing car. The history of the Lagonda with chassis number 12341 until 2003 is reconstructed through interviews, searches in archives and conversations with descendants. Thanks to the many historical films and photos, the reconstruction also produces a lively portrait of Grandpa himself, his work and special life.
