La Buena Vida plot
In the forests of northern Colombia, Jairo Fuentes, the young leader of the Wayúu community of Tamaquito, lives close to nature. Until recently, the forest was their only way of life they knew. But the 700 square kilometer coalmine of the El Cerrejón group wants to expand and threatens to destroy the habitat of the Wayúu. The coal extracted there is destined for Europe to generate electricity in the local coal-fired power stations. Fuentes and his people have no choice but to negotiate with the mine owners, but the struggle for their land is hopeless. The villagers are obliged to give up their lives in the forest and nature in order to end up in a modern society.
