Joutilaat plot

In the far northeast of Finland, near the border with Russia, there is not much work for young people. They have to move to a bigger city or wait for an opportunity to arise. The three unemployed boys followed in this film represent a new, rudderless generation in the far north of Finland. They hang out, drink beer and have some fun, but they want more. They also want to work. Since they have no work experience, they have little chance of finding a job. Because they are neither children nor adults yet, these boys have yet to fight for their independence. The landscape, captured in poetic images, seems to adorn the boys' lives. They do not fit into this splendor, but they also do not allow themselves to be carried away by the daily grind. And as it is said in the film: 'They live for the next day, but tomorrow never comes'.
