Je Suis le Peuple plot
Seven hundred miles south of Cairo, Mubarak's overthrow is little more than a televised event. In a nameless village in the Nile Valley, time seems to have stood still for centuries, and at first glance it doesn't look like the revolution taking place in the center of power is going to change that. Roussillon has frank conversations with some villagers. Through their dreams, disappointments, doubts and questions, the documentary Je suis le peuple from the countryside - where collective action has determined the survival of the community for generations - sheds light on the events on the distant Tahrir Square.
