Islands plot

In May 1983, eleven islands off the coast of Florida were provided with a collar of bright pink fabric. For two weeks the islands lay in the sea like giant water lilies. It was a project of the artist Christo and his wife Jeanne-Claude. Their artworks are always more than just immense environmental projects, which can only be seen for a few weeks and then are gone for good. Christo and Jeanne-Claude are followed during the preparations for this special art project.
