Inside the Distance plot

A famous director once said that making a movie about a real person is a crime because you can never do justice to life. So what did Elias Grootaers do, who starts this portrait of an Armenian boxing coach in Belgium with that quote? Making a movie about a real person. Giorgi Shakhsuvarian makes a fist. Our hearts are no bigger than this, he says, but his heart can fill the distance between Georgia and Belgium. Shakhsuvarian turns out to be an Armenian immigrant who grew up in Georgia and has been living as a boxing coach in Belgium for thirteen years.
