Indian Point plot

The Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant is located just 35 miles from Times Square. More than 50 million people live in close proximity to this aging facility. The continued operation and support of the plant's operators and the NRC - Nuclear Regulatory Commission - sparked a great deal of controversy in the surrounding community. An anti-nuclear action group referred to what happened at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan and warned that such a disaster is also possible here.
