"Control the spread. Control the story."
Nanfu Wang, a native Chinese who moved to the US 7 years ago, was in China when the first reports of a virus appeared cautiously in the media. She is trying to see beyond the Communist Party propaganda by ordering some Chinese cameramen in Wuhan to capture footage of hospital operations without Party approval. On this basis, she compares the state of affairs in China with that in the US.
