Imperfect Harmony plot

In this documentary, director Carmen Cobos follows avant-garde composer Louis Andriessen during the preparations for the performance of his piece Mysteries by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. A central theme is musical control, highlighted on the basis of a confrontation between two maestros, in which Louis Andriessen enters into a collaboration with Jansons and his orchestra. With just a week of rehearsal time for the world premiere, they have to align their radically different views. We are witnessing the final days of their tense relationship.
