"About children and parents. About love and loss."
The film follows the various phases in the lives of foster children, from the arrival in a shelter, through the daily life with the foster family, to the day the children return to their biological parents or realize that they have to go their own way. The common thread throughout the story is the love of biological parents for their children and vice versa, the invisible bond that lasts no matter the circumstances and what happened in the past. A foster child's longing for his biological parents leads to a form of loneliness that foster parents find difficult to remedy, no matter how much they would like to. The film focuses on two cases: on the one hand, the story of two children, aged seven and nine, who return to their biological mother after a five-year stay with a foster family, and on the other, that of a teenager who, after eight years' stay in a foster home, foster family is going to ask her father in prison if she can change her last name before she goes to a new school.
