"The story of the Beatles' effect on the Soviet Union."

This film shows how for an entire generation of residents of the Soviet Union, the Beatles are the ultimate symbol of freedom and how Beatlemania begins to disrupt communism. Director Leslie Woodhead shot the Beatles' first video in 1962 in a Liverpool basement. Now he travels through Russia and Ukraine to experience that the influence of the 'Fab Four' behind the Iron Curtain was even greater than in the west.
