Helbra plot

The town from the title of this documentary was once the largest village in the GDR and a center for the mining industry. After the "Wende", the mines closed, resulting in almost 30 percent unemployed and a significant exodus. The film portrays three friends from this miserable place. They have had a long addiction to heroin, among other things. They regularly completed the obsessive drive to Halle 40 kilometers away, where they scored their dope.
